What to expect

1. How Scheduling Works

Easy. Just call us at (757) 841-8015 and one of our CSRs will help you get started. We will ask for some basic information and your pet’s symptoms so we can prepare for your arrival and make the check-in process easier once you get here.

Walk-ins are always welcome, but having your information ahead of time helps us move things along more smoothly.

2. Arrival

Upon arrival, one of our CSRs will get you and your pet checked in. Dogs over 20 pounds will typically have their weight obtained in the lobby. Smaller dogs and cats will usually be weighed in the exam room on a smaller scale.

3. Waiting

We want visits to be as low stress as possible for both pets and owners. If an exam room is available, you and your pet will be placed into a room immediately rather than waiting in the lobby. We try to minimize lobby wait times whenever possible.

4. Triage

One of our trained treatment staff members will come into the room with you to obtain a brief history, assess your pet, and obtain vitals.

5. Doctor Exam

Once vitals and history have been completed and your pet is considered stable, one of our doctors will come in to perform a full exam, discuss your concerns, and go over recommended diagnostics and treatment options.

6. Treatment Plans

Once the doctor has discussed their recommendations for your pet, whether that includes diagnostics such as x-rays, bloodwork, fecal testing, or outpatient treatment, our staff will prepare an estimate and review everything with you for approval before moving forward.

7. Urgent Care Costs

Unleashed wants to be transparent with clients regarding pricing, so we would like to list some of our most common urgent care costs directly on the website. We understand some of these costs may be higher than a primary care wellness veterinarian, and we want clients to understand why.

  • Exam: $150
    • This includes the time of our assistants, technicians, and doctors throughout the visit, including triage, obtaining vitals, the doctor exam, and discussing diagnostics and treatment recommendations.
  • Bloodwork Panel: $290
    • This includes a complete chemistry panel, electrolytes, and CBC. Unlike many outpatient wellness clinics that send diagnostics to outside laboratories, this testing is performed in-house with results typically available within the hour. This allows our doctors to review and discuss results with clients face-to-face during the visit.
  • Radiographs: $355
    • Our x-rays are fully digital and immediately available for review by the doctor. This allows the doctor to go over the images directly with the client in real time during the appointment.
    • As we attempt to keep our pricing updated, please be mindful that this may not always reflect current prices. Please call us with any questions.
